We’re looking for a Technical Lead who wants to stay close to the code and take technical ownership of a new gaming platform from an early stage. Rather than stepping into an established platform where the decisions have already been made, you’ll join while the foundations are still being shaped. You’ll write production code, influence the architecture, set technical standards and work closely with the development partner building the platform with us.

You’ll play a key part in growing our in-house engineering team. We keep things simple, with a small team, flat structure and short decision paths, giving you the autonomy to make technical decisions and move things forward.

Tech Kotlin backend hosted in AWS, React back office and MySQL. Our existing frontend team owns the customer-facing experience, while you’ll take ownership of the APIs and backend services behind it.

What will you be doing?

• Write, review and ship production code, staying hands-on as a core part of the role.

• Work closely with our development partner to shape technical solutions, review what's delivered and maintain a high standard of engineering quality.

• Take technical ownership of the platform, shaping the architecture and making pragmatic decisions that keep it simple, scalable and maintainable.

• Own technical delivery end to end, from development and testing through deployment, monitoring and ongoing improvements.

• Build with reliability and stability in mind, ensuring the platform can operate effectively in a regulated environment.

• Ensure regulatory requirements, including those of the Swedish Gambling Authority, are considered as part of the platform's technical development.

• Build our in-house engineering capability by hiring and supporting the first developers & engineers, setting strong technical standards through your own work.

• Work closely with Product and our existing frontend team, providing the APIs and backend services that power the customer-facing experience.
  

What are we looking for?

• You're an experienced backend engineer who is still hands-on and enjoys writing, reviewing and shipping production code.

• You have strong experience with Kotlin, or a solid Java background with a genuine interest in working with Kotlin.

• You're comfortable building and running services in AWS and working with relational databases such as MySQL.

• Experience building platforms in high-transaction or regulated environments.

• You have strong technical judgement and are comfortable making pragmatic decisions, keeping solutions simple.

• Confident working closely with external development partners and lead technical decisions.

• Comfortable taking technical ownership in a small, fast-moving company where priorities can change and decisions are made quickly.

• You're interested in growing with the company and taking on broader technical leadership over time, while remaining close to the technology and code.

• iGaming experience is a plus!
